Review of Everything Must Go (2011) by Jesse P — 24 Nov 2011
Rating: B+, It seems comedy actors are always going to eventually do a drama. The rate at which it works tends to be high as I've seen. Robin Williams has Good Will Hunting and Jim Carey has ESOTSM (although with 23 he should back off from them for a while).
Will Ferrell makes the transition smoothly. Everything Must Go is a good mix of light drama and light comedy. It never really seems to aim for one or the other, but blends them well. Ferrell plays, Nick, a man who experiences possibly the worst day of his life, and he moves on.
He lives in his front lawn after his wife kicks him out and he can only live there for six days. Ferrell is hard to look away from the entire time, he's so entertaining. The film can seem slow at times and it could be slightly more involving in outside characters, but it's overall good.
