Comedy starring Will Ferrell telling us the story of Nick Halsey, a man that has lost everything in a single day. Nick is fired from his high paid job in an insurance company and when he comes home his wife has locked the house and left all his belongings in the front lawn. He has to face the harsh reality of his alcohol addiction and his broken marriage while selling all the stuff he can in a yard sale. Nick realises that it is a very humble experience to see your life crumbling in front of your very eyes and that he must learn a lesson from it if he wants to move forward.

Despite the funny comedy icing there is a sad story of neglect, loneliness and alcohol abuse underneath that isn't humorous at all.

It is refreshing to see Will Ferrell tackling a character that is far more complex that oblivious misfit he got us used to. He has indeed a talent for melodrama that has been unnoticed until now.

It isn't the regular Hollywood comedy, so it might not appeal to slapstick lovers, it is more a reflection about responsibilities and relationships.

The open end doesn't work for me but it makes sense in between the story.
