Review of Everything Must Go (1996) by Brandon L — 27 Jan 2013
Will Ferrell is in a rare dramatic role here, and he delivers...sort of. He's certainly better than you would expect, but other comedy actors turned dramatic actors such as Jim Carrey and Robin Williams don't lose their way in their new roles (save Carrey in 23), and Will Ferrell just seems like he's trying to be someone he's not. The movie is entertaining enough to start, and it has a decent pace. Christopher Jordan Wallace played his role well and looks like he has a future. But the rest of the cast is rather unremarkable, and the ending is not very good. It seems like something is about to happen, but nothing does. He gets his life together...I think? It's a good watch on Netflix if you need to kill an hour and a half, but nothing special.
3 stars: Enjoyable, but unremarkable.
