Review of Everything Is Illuminated (2005) by Brian S — 19 Jun 2010
A very unusual film with a dry, quirky sense of humour and a bit of a poignant charm. Elijah Wood's performance was so-so, I thought, but the supporting cast was pretty good. although the story's main characters may have "everything illuminated" for them, I'm not entirely sure I understood all the connections.
so while some elements of storytelling may be a little odd, the rest of the film by and large is quite enjoyable and a great directing debut for Liev Schreiber.
