Review of Everything Is Illuminated (2005) by Chris D — 07 Jun 2012
Everything is perfect, the storyline, the characterisation, the acting and that goes for Sammy Davis Jn Jn the dog as well. IMHO this is a perfect anti war and anti hate film, and for an American based film remarkably foreign in its texture.
Somewhat similar to the Italian film "Life Is Beautiful" it starts off with a good comic feel, expanding the main characters and then turns into a story with morals and ideals, it had me rooted to my seat throughout.
Probably the thing which surprised me the most is that Elijah Wood can actually act, even though the performance of the blind grand-dad steals every scene he was in. 8.5/10.
