It would have been a mediocre drama but what made it better was Boris Leskin as the Ukrainian grandfather and the character's story. Also, Eugene Hutz and Gogol Bordello's music was a plus.
I don't really like Elijah Wood that much. He's acting is always so similar that you don't see the character at all, you see Elijah. Also, all his characters are the silent nerdy type, at least in every movie I've seen him in.
