Review of Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) by Mace8704 — 10 Apr 2022
Genuinely loved it. I was totally engaged for the entire 2.5 hours. Transitions well between the bizarre, juvenile humor, heartfelt family drama, and martial arts action sequences. I felt the full whirlwind of emotions from tears to laughter to awestruck at the creative action sequences.
I could see some criticizing the immature humor, but after seeing Swiss Army Man, I had a good feel for the directors humor going into the film. If you have an aversion to old school Asian martial arts or female leads in action movies, you may have not like the action sequences.
There are some portions that require reading subtitles. You’ll also need to open minded to some absolutely, totally bizarre, way out of left field scenes. Overall none of these deterred any of my enjoyment. Most fun I’ve had in a theater in 2022 by a large margin. The wife enjoyed it too. Not particularly violent, but there was some fairly crude humor and strong language at times if you’re planning on attending this with family.
