Review of Everyone's Hero (2006) by Kevin R — 07 Aug 2015
Face it, leather-face, you're beat.
A group of robbers stole Babe Ruth's lucky bat right in the middle of the World Series. They scoff the job and a little boy named Jake T. Smith discovers the bat and is a Yankee and Ruth fan. He sets off on a journey from New York to Chicago to personally deliver the bat to Ruth; meanwhile, the original robbers are hot on his trail.
"You smell like a week old hot dog.".
Three directors collaborate to deliver Everyone's Hero. The storyline for this picture is fairly fun and unfolds well. The animation style is also solid and on par with current CGI. The voices fit the characters well and include Ritchie Allen, Whoopi Goldberg, William H. Macy, Ralph Coppolla, and Brian Dennehy.
"How are we going to get Babe Ruth's lucky bat?".
I came across this on HBOGO and thought it would be a fun movie to watch with my daughter. She was interested and watched it from beginning to end. I wouldn't say it was a classic or must see, but it was a nice addition to the genre that is worth a viewing, but not worth adding to your DVD collection.
"How can something so round be so square?".
Grade: C+.
