Review of Everybody Wants Some!! (2016) by Randy H — 15 Jul 2016

There is no plot in this film, which wouldn't be so bad if the jokes were funny. But they're not. Bad acting too, though the music is good. So how could it score 87% on the Tomatometer? My guess is that the critics think Linklater is a genius because his previous film, Boyhood, was a multiple Oscar nominee (in a drought year for good cinema), so they inflated their estimation of this one lest they look bad.

None of this makes much sense to me because I thought Boyhood was plodding and badly acted.
