Richard Linklater is almost wrung dry on these types of movies, he needs to freshen up. But this is by no means bad, obviously. Outstanding killer soundtrack! The performances are great, and the main guys have excellent chemistry! Glen Powell was a stand out to me, and my favorite.

Not only is his performance excellent, but I wasn't expecting it from him, because I only knew him from The Expendables 3 and Ride Along 2. The characters are great as well. The direction is great too, obviously.

The cinematography is great, from the guy who did Boyhood, and several other Linklater movies. The writing is the biggest flaw. There's never really anything compelling. And the second half has this cliché relationship aspect.

But it's got a good amount of laughs! It's also too long, but I can't really say there's anything that should be cut. This is one of Linklater's weaker movies, but he's so good that even a weak movie from him is pretty strong! I'd say watch it, but you can wait till Redbox or streaming.
