Review of Everlasting Moments (2008) by Foong M — 31 May 2011
Very well executed movie set in Sweden at the turn of the last century. A woman who finds herself married to a redeemable but ultimately abusive alcoholic husband re-discovers an old camera won in a lottery, and uses it both to see her world, capture glimpses of her life, and as an artistic escape from her difficult place and troubled/abused life.
The cinematography is excellent as are actors. The hardship is palpable, and feels familiar to other movies made in Ireland around this time. At 131 minutes found it to be on the too long side.
