Everest says one thing and says it very loudly; mother nature is an unforgiving bitch and those who venture on the edges of the world have to square with that one way or another. One thing I loved about Everest was the heightened sense of realism.
Climbing Everest sucks, and the filmmakers never shy away from this. There are some issues with story arc and character development, but the character the matters the most, the mountain itself, is finally given it just due.
Everest is essential viewing.
