Starting off with a slow introduction to the principal characters involved in the ill-fated 1996 disaster, Everest shows some breathtaking visuals. While the first half seems stretchy at certain portions of its runtime, the second half compensates altogether with its fast-paced storm that hits the mountain and the climber.
In the battle for survival, the mountain emerges the hero. Performances by Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin and Emily Watson are spot-on along with some oustanding supporting performances from Keira Knightley and Jake Gyllenhaal.
