Review of Everest (2015) by Alvin Y — 23 Oct 2015

I won't knock it because it's no doubt a great story -- but as far as movie-entertainment value, I couldn't help but compare it to Vertical Limit. (anybody remember that movie? haha) I undoubtedly remember liking that movie much better and maybe because I was such a fan, that hindered my opinions on this one.

.. I feel the same about this movie as I do about all those war movies like American Sniper. yeah. it's fine. it's a true story which makes it great. but as far as the cinematic experience goes, it's been done before.

and this one didn't blow me away. it focuses more on the character's experiences, not the action-packed "sit on the edge of your seat" type plot points.
