Capturing the difficulty and terror of climbing the highest point in the world is not a lofty task. What Baltasar Kormakur has done with Everest is shape those elements into a tense, tear-jerking experience.
Aside from being eye candy, there's enough substance to keep viewers focused on the story at hand. As a moviegoer, you find yourself cheering on Rob's unlikely escape in the final act of the film.
