It's not the definitive survival movie but it is a very solid addition to the genre. It is full of great visuals and good performances and it pays tribute to the true story very well. All of the special effects are superbly convincing and it adds to the tension of the film.
it does drag here and there and some of the story elements are a bit overdone but overall it's a thrilling and spectacular looking film. It has it's thrilling moments but it just as much of an emotional drama which ultimately makes a worthwhile movie to watch.
