Review of EverAfter (1998) by Howie C — 28 Mar 2010
This was a very good adaption of the Cinderella story. The only truly enjoyable parts of this film was when Anjelica Huston was on as Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent. Fortuantely she was on a lot. Her delivery was perfect. Such lines as "How can one love a pebble in ones shoe?" when Barrymore asked if she loved her.
The chemistry beteween Barrymore and Scott was not very good but at least we'll always have the chemistry between Huston and Barrymore. You could see how Danielle truly wanted Rodmilla's love and how Rodmilla rejected her and treated her worse than the animals in her estate.
