Review of EverAfter (1998) by Al W — 10 Nov 2010
Ever After is an enchanting rendition of a classic tale with a lively sense of humor and a great romantic chemistry. I was captured from its very beginning until the end. I don't know how to say it, but I was laughing and crying, I was moved, scared and thrilled.
I admit, I love fairy tales. And a part of me loves Kitsch. The acting is awesome, especially Drew Barrymore as a modern heroine iis incredible... well, but Angelica Houston as the evil stepmother is quite compelling too.
All the characters are wonderfully developped, and I liked that Leonardo DaVinci is a part of this story. It gives the whole plot something really fresh. Best of all: the "Cinderella" in this story is brave and strong she is not waiting to be resued by her prince but she knows how to deal with obstacles in her life.
Well, a perfect Cinderella adaption for my taste.
