Review of EverAfter (1998) by Darioleta C — 17 Feb 2010
I bought this film on tape when it was released. More like, I got it at a pawn shop. That sounds a little more accurate. I remember being hooked on it's storyline and it's characters. I found this to be the best Cinderella story to date. With help from it's engaging characters.
Drew Barrymore has that magical aura when she acts and it shines here in Ever After - A Cinderella Story. Dougray Scott as The Prince of France, and who also is the love interest of Danielle (Drew Barrymore) and her two step-sisters, Jacqueline and Marguerite (Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds), plays an equally impressive role. Anjelica Huston as the evil step-mother really takes advantage of her role and displays much cruelty to Danielle. She is the true step-mother when thinking of Cinderella.
Ever After - A Cinderella Story is the best adaption to Cinderella and everything else trying to portray the story will never be as good as this one. A great family fairy-tale.
