Toss a bunch of science fiction and a little bit of classic horror into a cinematic blender, and out comes this film. Director Paul Anderson crafts a superb mixture of science fiction and horror into one film. Event Horizon is "Solaris" meets "Aliens" and "Sunshine". A blood fueled full-throttle actioner that doesn't run out of steam for the entire 90 minutes that it runs. The special effects are stunning, the action sequences are remarkable, and the entertainment factor is high. Electrifying, adrenaline-pumping and riveting, Event Horizon is a must see for fans of horror and science fiction everywhere.
Lawrence Fishburne and Sam Neill are decent throughout, but let's face it, I wasn't in it for the acting. Anderson's films are for pure entertaininent and style over substance, and that's just what this is.
