Review of Event Horizon (1997) by Jay M — 07 Aug 2013
The captain & crew of the Lewis & Clerk are-tired from an-extend amount of working time in space; they are not-very pleased-when they are-pulled off of shore leave; they are the only ones available on such short notice to investigate a classified mission by the planet Neptune. Someone drops the ball: we get the call; that is the case for the captain & crew of the Lewis & Clerk who have-been sent to investigate the reappearance of the Event Horizon that-was reported to have-been destroyed form an engine explosion 7 years prior. Accompanying them on the journey is doctor Weir; the creator of the ship; doctor Weir in forms them-shortly before reaching Neptune the story of the engine exploding was a cover story; & that the ship has an artificial gravity well that allows it to travel long distances within a few seconds. How far it has traveled & where the captain & the crew will find out that the doctor does not have a clue; they only know where ever it has gone it was not a good place.
This is an outer-space science fiction horror film; it explores the un-supernatural. At the beginning thumbs started to go up, but then they started to turn back down till they leveled off at the border line. The film for me was not boring, but it did not greatly impress me either; I am just going to give this film a border line thumb.
