This is a compelling movie that is willing to attempt to address real societal problems, as opposed to the escapist fluff Hollywood keeps churning out. Top critics complain about the changes in the perspectives of the two leading men.
In truth, it is my experience that soft-hearted idealists such as the character Sebastian often abandon their ideals for self interest, and it is entirely possible for an apparent cynic to make a laudable moral choice.
I commend this part of the plot.
