Review of Even Dwarfs Started Small (1971) by Arturo S — 01 Nov 2009
Oh my god, I hated this film! I couldn't even comprehend it! I think that it's worth seeing because it is so different and I think that everyone will either love it or hate. Either way, however, it will definitely leave an effect.
I personally couldn't even finish watching it because it disturbed me so much. I can't knock it too much because it's one of the films that got him noticed and enabled him to be one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, but there comes a point where I have to admit to myself that he can make a film that is not all that it's cracked up to be.
While watching EVEN DWARFS STARTED SMALL, I failed to understand anything about the chaotic human nature depicted in the film and instead was left shocked, disturbed, sickened, depressed, and with a raging headache.
I can understand why someone would love it, but I was just put off and I hate to even think about this film and what affect it could have had on my mind and body. It left me feeling extremely unclean and unhappy.
