Review of Eve and the Fire Horse (2005) by Austin K — 18 Aug 2007
A bit too slow and slightly repetitious when it comes to certain scenes and locations, but Kwan's movie is full of interesting and fascinating insights into an Chinese family trying to make it in Vancouver in the 70ies.
Excellent art direction (the flair of those days is nicely captured). Very respectful to kids and certainly an hommage to our imagination, hopes and insecurities at an early age. Definitely taught me something new.
Thank you.
