Review of EuroTrip (2004) by This Is Life — 06 Jul 2009

I love this movie. A funny film about recent high school grad Scottie being dumped by his girl friend Fiona right after graduation. Of course Scottie takes the break up hard, especially when the whole school finds out about at the after graduation party when the lead singer of a rock band (played by a punk looking Matt Damon) who Fiona hooked up with, sings the catchy song Scottie Doesn't Know. Priceless. Anyway, Scottie has a German pen pal who he thinks is a guy but is actually a girl named Mika, who he tells off in a drunken rage in an email. So once Scottie finds out the deal he and his best bud Cooper head over to Europe to find his true love.Along the way the duo run into their high school buddies, the twins (Jenny and Jamie), get shanghaied by some Manchester United supporters, stumble into Vandersexx, a sex club all about domination and kinky stuff, make shambles of the Pope's clothes, hit an all male nude beach (don't ask) and more funny situations. This movie had me laughing from the word go. One of my favorites. Cameos include besides Matt Damon...there is Lucy Lawless as the owner of the sex club; Vinnie Jones as the leader of Manchester United; Jeffrey Tambor as Scottie's clueless dad; and the whole cast is just great.
