Review of Europa Report (2013) by Josh I — 03 Aug 2013
A space-nut's dream. Having studied Europa in great depth because it is most likely our best chance for life in this solar system, I can say that this movie is profoundly accurate, with just enough artistic license taken so as not to lose the main body of viewers.
I can understand why some who are maybe not as informed about challenges and realities of space travel might call the flick "dry", if go into the movie looking to feel, rather than to be "thrilled", then you may have a better experience.
I can also say that I was inflated emotionally because of my personal philosophical views. Being an atheist and in touch with the vastness of space can hurt sometimes, and seeing my dreams of another life in the universe played out so realistically without the Hollywood cheese was almost a religious experience for me.
Almost. So yes, this movie is not for everyone, but for some it will be deeply moving and enjoyable.
