Review of Eulogy (2004) by L B — 27 Mar 2009
Not what you expect.
All I knew about this was that it had an outstanding cast. I found myself laughing out loud in several spots but more often I found my mouth open in shock about something done or said. The twins are disustingly rude. This film wasn't great in terms of story. The plot is simple. The patriarch of the family dies and the family assembles to plan and attend the funeral. The character of the granddaughter is the only real sane character and she holds the movie and really the family together.
Sometimes you just want to see a movie with a happy ending and even though the movie is centered around death, the main theme is really redemption. And everyone can use a little redemption. Well done.
Now, when I die I want to go out Viking style. In a boat on fire.
