Review of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) by Justin H — 01 Oct 2013
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is a cinematic masterpiece that is bolstered by two incredible performances that has encapsulated it to legendary status. This is easily one of the greatest films ever made, conveying that it is still possible to create a thematic study on relationships, without being overly melodramatic.
Both the director Michael Gondry and the screenwriter Charlie Kaufman have masterfully composed a study of life and love with extraordinary results. Jim Carrey delivers what is one of the most underrated performances of modern cinema, as Joel Barish.
Perfectly transpiring the character in the script whilst staying true and nuanced. Kate Winslet delivers yet again another raw and inspiring performance as Joel's complex girlfriend, Clementime. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind remains a phenomenal monument of modern cinema about life and love.
5/5.
