What I absolutely adore about this movie is the story. The story of two broken hearts using lost memories in order to move on from their pasts is so strong and so emotional. The twist ending was also a really good way of showing the power of serendipity and true love.
However, I was not completely captivated due to the lack of emotion Joel and Clementine portray to each other before breaking up. This lack of emotion is a huge missing piece of the story because it did not allow me to feel apologetic for Joel or Clementine after finding out they wanted to forget each other completely.
If the audience were to see more of Joel and Clementine's love story before their break up, the idea of erasing their memories would have been a lot more heartbreaking.
