Review of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) by Kristen C — 19 Aug 2014
One of my top three favorite movies, this film is both uplifting and depressing all wrapped up in a pretty bow of interesting set choices and cinematography. Carrey is at the top of his game as brooding Joel, and Winslet acts as a perfect yang to his yin in Clementine.
A perfect, if somber, depiction of what many go through during the end of a relationship, the regrets, the yearning and the wishing of a relapse, while at the same time making us think-- maybe the bad times were worth it for all these good memories.
