Review of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) by Steven S — 03 Jan 2013

I'm a little late to review this one seeing as I am reviewing it nine years after it's initial release. That being said this movie was so amazing that it moved me to write a review after 22 months since I last wrote one.

I had already seen Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind a couple years back when I was in high school. It was my brothers favorite movie at the time and I watched it after much encouragement from him. Needless to say I was less than impressed, I thought the movie dragged on and was dull. BUT I came across the movie today on Instant Netflix when I was scouring the site for something to watch on the treadmill. I fell in love with the story of Joel and Clementine as I walked three miles.

I have really been through a lot with relationships since my first viewing of the film and I needed that maturity to truly understand what the characters were going through. The love story in ESSM is not some over the top drawn out ordeal (like you usually see in Hollywood), it's an everyday common type of love between two everyday common type of people. It is something that is easy to relate to and will bring up feelings.

I give this movie the highest possible rating I can: 10/10 or 5 fives stars.

Any movie that can make me a fan of a love story must really be good. I encourage whoever is reading this to get up and go watch it.
