Review of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) by Mark M — 11 Dec 2012
A wildly imaginative & beautifully crafted film with a whole new take on love & breakups.
Based on an extremely strong script & great directing Carry & Winslet deliver powerful performances. The rest of cast is strong as well.
Perhaps one of the best romantic films of all time and certainly very unique one. Joel (Jim Carrey) after finding out his ex love Clementine (Kate Winslet) has had a bizarre procedure done to erase any memory of their former life together he impulsively decides to do the same.
During the procedure to erase his memory of his relationship with Clementine he begins to break through the memory erasure procedure with interesting results. As memories are being erased he looses the reasons why he & Clementine were wrong for each other & rediscovers why they were originally drawn to one another & fell in love. And he begins to try & beat the erasure procedure & find his way back to her and the love they once shared.
An EXCELLENT FILM!
