Sorry, I know this movie is considered a classic but to me it is just dull and bland. The SFX are superb and the movie is emotionally touching at times but there is a definite pacing issue. There are parts when nothing particularly eventful happens and when something does, it's quite subtle.
I remember that this movie was purchased for me when I was a kid and I must have watched this only once or twice.
Performances are good, especially from Dee Wallace who plays the family's mother, but overall it is not something I will find myself going back to any time soon.
