In all honesty, I though this was just decent. I though the story was good, some scenes are defiantly iconic; however, I really didn't care for the acting. Really this movie didn't really leave a huge impression on me, like Spielberg's Close Encounters did.
The film has charm no doubt, but I would dare say it may be a tad overrated. E.T. has appeal and I would recommend it, however I personally wasn't blown away like everyone else.
