Review of Escape Room (2019) by Adambeam — 01 Feb 2019
Escape Room is yet another watered down, generic, and standard horror film for teenagers looking to get a cheap scare from a popular thing studios are trying to make scary. Escape Room fails mainly due to a PG-13 rating, boring characters, inconsistent rules, an extremely lackluster ending, and not using it's concept to it's full potential.
For a film all about escape rooms, it's sad that there's only one escape room that is actually creative and original, the rest are either boring rooms or rooms so ridiculous that it's impossible for them to even work (literal frozen lake indoors).
Escape Room is just forgettable, I'm sure it will get a sequel as even the weakest horror films nowadays do, but this film is boring and desperately needed more creativity behind the camera and a R-rating to really take this concept all the way.
