Review of Escape Plan (2013) by Mloy X — 19 Nov 2014

Swan Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger): "Heh heh. You hit like a vegetarian!".

Okay, so its not exactly Shakespeare but you would be foolish to expect it to be, especially from two veteran actors who made a name for themselves starring predominantly in action genre. What else would you expect in this but action and there was some good bits of it- I mean, granted, it's not "Rambo" or "Predator" but these guys aren't spring chickens either. Stallone and Schwarzenegger have great chemistry together, that's an undeniable fact and they play well off each other. I like that Stallones' character is a bit more cerebral while Schwarzenegger's is his typical brutish character. It was a pretty fun enough film to watch; yes, there's plenty of events one has to suspend disbelief but that's pretty much a given with any film. Overall, I think these guys did a good job playing each of their parts, the story was interesting and it was worth the price of admission- especially having recorded it for free on the telly during "Free-HBO" trial weekend.
