Review of Escape from Planet Earth (2013) by Kathy V — 17 May 2013

Save yourself the effort. Don't watch it. Maybe kids might still like this sort of low level plot line but adults will see this for what it is. A cash in on the "3D" craze and basically a 90 minute Saturday morning cartoon. That may actually be a disservice to Saturday morning cartoons, since they may actually have more sets than this annoying story.

Punchlines are telegraphed, characters are annoying and stereotyped, badly. The worst thing about the movie though is the whole point of it. Why would anyone with half a brain much less a super genius wan to save Scorch Supernova. His bumbling makes the Clueless girls seem like rogue scholars. Inept, Egoistic and bullish, yet someone actually went to go save his sorry butt. Not plausible, nor entertaining.
