Astronaut Scorch Supernova is an infamous alien space explorer. He lands on planet Earth after following a distress signal. While investigating the planet he is kidnapped. His older brother, who recently had an argument with Scorch, decides to put their differences aside and fly to Earth to try and rescue his brother. Can the Supernova brothers find each other and then escape planet Earth?

Cal Brunker, director of Ninjamaica and has worked on the Looney Tunes, Horton Hears a Who, Jonah Hex, Despicable Me, and Ice Age projects, delivers Escape from Planet Earth. The storyline for this movie is just okay. The animation is very solid and the voices are well selected and include Brendan Frasier, Jessica Alba, Rob Corddry, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Ricky Gervais.

I recently watched this as the opening show at the Drive-In. It was entertaining and fun to watch unfold; however, it wasn't really that great and didn't separate itself from the recent string of solid animated pictures. I would say this is worth watching once with the kids, but with so much solid animated films being released, I wouldn't add this to your DVD collection.
