Well, I watched this movie for the first time in years and I was a little disappointed. The movie looks great thanks to production designer Joe Alves and DP Dean Cundey (I'm sure Carpenter deserves a lot of credit, too) but let's face it the plot is way too busy and too damned stupid to be taken seriously.
The completely unrealistic plot conflicts with the movie's gritty, grimy visual style. But damn those sets look good...
