Escape From New York (1981).

This is one of the best sci-fi films of all time, taking us into a different type of sci-fi world where Manhattan Island in New York is now a maximum security prison but when The President Air Force One crashes in the prison and taking prisioner by the inmates, there only hope is Snake Plissken a former soldier and fugitive who has been recently transferred to the prison. They give Snake 24 hours to find the President.

I think Kurt Russell was the right choice for Snake, he gives a very great performance and with the sarcasm of the character being cool and how he is the Anti-hero because he is a criminal. The rest of the cast were great as well including the fantastic actor Harry Dean Stanton who gives a great performance as Brain. Not many of the characters where developed enough though but this doesn't take away the greatness of the film.

The directing was well done by John Carpenter who also co-wrote the screenplay and also was the composer as well. Intresting fact for those who don't know but the film was also co-wrote by Nick Castle who played Michael Myers in the first Halloween. Like I said in the paragraph above the characters weren't very developed but you'll be to busy watching the film because it moves at a fast pace. John Carpenter also does great composing the score like he does for most of his films.

I really hope they don't remake this film becuase it will be shit.
