Perhaps the best collaboration of John Carpenter and Kurt Russell. It includes an impressive supporting cast for a "alternate totalitarian government future" storyline that includes Ernest Borgnine, Harry Dean Stanton, Donald Pleasence, Lee Van Cleef, and Isaac Hayes.
Carpenter fans will also relish the smaller roles by the director's "regulars" that includes Adrienne Barbeau, Tom Atkins, and Charles Cyphers. Required watching for 1980's aficionados.
