Review of Escape from New York (1981) by John L — 15 May 2011
Talk about a letdown. The movie is about a special forces kind of guy with an eye patch and lots of guns. What could go wrong? Though I knew the movie in general was going to be a bit second rate, I figured the hero, Snake, would be something awesome along the lines of Rambo or another hard core fighter.
Nope. He barely used his guns. Heck, he couldn't even fight off about 7 people who attacked 2 at a time. Any good action hero could have done that. The ending was the only part that I really enjoyed.
Everything else was slow and rather uninteresting.
