Review of Escape from New York (1981) by Drew O — 13 Aug 2012

A really dark and weird kind of movie! It has lots of cool action in it, but it does have some weird ass scenes in it where you don't know if it's suppose to be serious or funny. I honestly didn't care about the strangeness of this movie because this movie was just so damn awesome you can just ignore any dumb things that are in this movie.

I did love the dark tone this movie had though, it really made the movie more suspenseful and more realistic. I also enjoyed Kurt Russell as the character Snake Plissken, I think him playing that character is a thing that everyone will remember, the character Snake is a true classic action character.

But anyways the direction of this movie is what made this movie really work and that's all thanks to John Carpenter who made this movie dark, creepy and very intense. I always loved John Carpenter's work and I always love when Kurt Russell and John Carpenter team up.

So Escape From New York is a little silly at times and also a tad outdated in somethings, but this movie still rocks and it still entertains me when I watch it.
