Review of Escape from New York (1981) by Nathan M — 18 Aug 2014
Fun, violent, wacky, and with a great sense of tone and atmosphere, director John Carpenter knows what his audience wants and delivers it with Escape from New York. The precursor for so many pulpy dystopian future films, Escape is a whole lot of fun.
Carpenter is able to use these veteran actors in films that would usually seem like B movies, but with his talent and vision they are near masterpieces.
