Review of Escape from L.A. (1996) by Alan L — 26 Feb 2013
Carpenters career in film went a little downhill at this time with the 1995 remake of Village of the Damned and the sequel to the ever popular cult classic hit Escape from NY. Escape from LA has pretty much the same premise except its in LA.
Kurt Russell seems to enjoy this character and kind of camps and laps it up a bit playing Snake Plissken and why not it definitely is one of his most popular characters. Apart from this the film has a number of well known actors featured including Steve Buscemi and Peter Fonda.
All in all though this film just kind of goes nowhere its passable but still is a letdown for Carpenter fans and did not need to be made.
