Review of Escape from L.A. (1996) by Michael O — 12 Aug 2013
Not as terrible as some have lead you to believe, this isn't "Showgirls" bad or even the last couple as bad as the last couple in the "Die Hard" series. Still there's something left wanting after it's over.
Even with memorable credited star cameos like Bruce Campbell's fiendish plastic surgeon and Peter Fonda as a surfer there's not much there. It does have it's moments, if you can stick around past the dumb and silly ones.
If you stick with it, it's ok, though it does have a marginally disappointing ending. Not bad but could have been much better. Snake Plissken deserves better.
