Review of Escape from Alcatraz (1979) by Alex A — 21 May 2018
The process in which Frank breaks through the prison interior walls towards the outside is interesting to watch and very detailed, executed with a slow-burn pace. Eastwood gives a low-key performance and the rest of the cast is good too.
That being said, there are many sections of the film that are flat out boring. This film could have easily been 15 to 20 minutes less had some overdrawn dialogue scenes been shaved off. Nonetheless, it's decent for what it is.
