A group of four attempt the desperate, lengthy task of escaping from the hell of the maximum security prison built on an island called Alcatraz. Based on a true story, this film is very meditative as well as truly suspenseful, perfectly balancing the thriller side of the escape with the drama of the lives of the prisoners that receive daily unfair treatments and abuse from the law.
