Review of Escape from Alcatraz (1979) by Steve N — 12 Mar 2009
Wow..a non-directed Clint Eastwood movie. I didn't think those existed. It was good. Very little action, but told a real good story about life in prison. I can see where they got the idea from the Prison Break television show.
Clint is his usual brooding self, but his performance was great. It would have been nice to see more of the warden..he was made out to be an ass and an idiot...maybe he was. It was also nice to see them not make up an ending.
Since no one knows what really happened to the escapees, I am glad they left it the ending with a big ?.
