Review of Ernest & Celestine (2012) by Brandon C — 28 Apr 2015
There are animated movies that are good. No one sees them. Ernest and Celestine is a good example. This film isn't a masterpiece, very good, or excellent. It's just good. And for me 'good' is still great. This movie has a rather short running time, which not only makes it better, by avoiding the faltering of a story, but more entertaining and rewatchable. The characters, Ernest and Celestine are written well. The animation is gorgeous, lush. The score: Great.
For an Oscar win, it is kind of hard, considering movies like 'Big Hero 6' and 'The Tale of The Princess Kaguya', acting as competition. I personally prefer Kaguya over both of the aforementioned. If only Oscars can be shared, haha.
I highly recommend Ernest and Celestine. This a nice, sweet movie, that the family can just sit down and enjoy.
